Car park recycling banks to be moved after complaint

Axbridge town councillors heard at their Monday meeting that a nearby resident had complained about the banks.
Councillors also heard that Sedgemoor District Council believe leaving the facility in its current corner could lead to a statutory nuisance complaint.
Clerk Vicky Brice said the banks would again occupy four to five parking spaces, and they had been told by Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) that the only place to put them was by the opposite corner. However, the proposed space is popular with coach drivers for parking and manoeuvring.
The district council confirmed minor relining and cleaning would be done to the vacated spot once the banks were moved. Cllr Mike Taylor said this must be sorted in case it impacted their own bid to buy the car park.
Mayor Kate Browne said confirmation was needed from SWP that the proposed position is the only available spot that satisfies legal and environmental concerns and won't lead to future complaints.
